New Locked Folder For Google Photos Has Just Been Launched

The “Locked Folder” feature of Google Photos has just been launched, and by the looks of things, we should be expecting something that’s going to blow our minds! With this new locked feature, you have the ability to select and decide where to turn on your protected folder, which is a terrific option if you have more than one device at your disposal. To see this feature in action on your iOS, Android, or even the web versions, navigate to photos.google.com/locked folder or look for the icon in the app’s side rail.

You can find the new Locked Folder in the Google Photos app immediately above the symbol that stands for the “Trash” bin. This feature enables you to save photographs in a safe manner under a password and 2-step Verification (2FA). That’s very remarkable, don’t you think?

Additionally, any stuff that you choose to store in the Locked Folder will not be displayed in the main images stream, despite the fact that copies, some altered versions, and shared images that have been saved by other people will still stay there. That is an excellent method to hide a few pictures, some of which may be considered private, and discourage nosy people from looking at them. Neat!

How does the Locked Folder work on multiple devices?

You may make use of the new Locked Folder functionality on several devices at the same time, as was mentioned earlier. The best thing is that you have complete control over where your locked folder is activated, so you are able to select where to do it! How delightful!

Would you give the brand-new Locked Folder a try? Is there something you want to add?

How about you just deactivate it on that one device? There’s no need to worry about it. The older images will remain where they are, but the more recent ones will not be moved. When this occurs, a cloud icon will appear in the upper-right corner of the screen.
