New Google Chrome Update Makes It Easier to Use Bookmarks, History, and Tabs

The desktop version of the famous Google Chrome browser is now getting a new update that completely transforms its address bar. Users can now search for items within bookmarks, history, and tabs directly from the address bar of the browser.

Google itself revealed the new changes via its official blog, and the update is already available for users to take advantage of it. The new functionality can be used by everyone, as no special skills are required.

Three new magical shortcuts for the address bar

Three new shortcuts are now available in the address bar of Google Chrome for the users to benefit from: @bookmarks, @history, and @tabs. You can type one of them at a time, followed by the item you need to find from the specified area. For example, you can type “@bookmarks toys” in order to find those bookmarks you’ve saved that contain the word “toys.”

If, on the other hand, you need to see a video of cosmologist Max Tegmark a second time, you’ll just have to type something like “@history tegmark.” Obviously, deleting your browser’s history would definitely be a bad idea, as it will ruin any search you try by using the “@history” keyword. But as soon as you fill your browser’s history with plenty of links, you’ll be able to find them using the magical keyword once again.
