Metal Gear Solid 3 – Konami Reveals Why They Chose it for a Remake Instead of the First Game

The decision by Konami to recreate Metal Gear Solid 3 before the other games in the franchise has been explained, much to the relief of fans everywhere.

One of the most popular game series, Metal Gear Solid incorporates some of the most ambitious, intricate gameplay mechanics ever seen at the time of its release.

Hideo Kojima also created a very exquisite narrative spanning several decades so it’s no surprise it’s gathered such a loyal and expansive fan base over the years.

Some games still fall short of the level of gameplay seen in the Metal Gear Solid series today.

The final game took on the difficult challenge of a whole, expansive open world for players to perform utterly wild things in. Each game became increasingly grandiose.

After all of this, many questioned why Konami chose to remake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater rather than just the original game.

Thankfully, speaking to IGN, Konami provided a detailed explanation. The publisher stated that they wanted to begin with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it’s canonically the first game in the series.

Along with being the obvious starting point, Konami noted that fans had long desired a remake of this particular game.

Konami spokesperson stated that “We chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of BIG BOSS (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series. Another reason is that many fans have been requesting a remake of this game for a long time.”

It is currently unsure of whether there will be any additional remakes.

Although Hideo Kojima doesn’t appear to be involved, Konami has said that they are open to the idea.

The series creator is not involved in this remake and has not yet released any kind of statement regarding it.

That being said, Kojima and Konami had a difficult falling out in 2015, so it is possible that tensions remain high between the two.
