Marvel’s Avengers Creative Director Apologizes for the Game

A Marvel’s Avengers creative director at one of their support companies apologized for the game, admitting that it was a rather challenging process.

During an interview for Edge Magazine’s newest issue, Virtuos studio creative director Cezar Virtosu confessed that “It was a challenging production, let’s say.”

This superhero game, whose expenses support is planned to be reduced this year, is known to have encountered its fair share of issues after earnings fell short of recovering due to weak sales.

Despite having a strong campaign, the game ultimately fell flat due to its muddled concept and overflowing loot system.

With no set release date as of yet, Virtosu left his position as a co-developer at Virtuos, the studio that worked on Marvel’s Avengers, in order to concentrate on the Lords of the Fallen reboot.

Virtosu and Saul Gascon, the executive producer for The Lords of the Fallen, chatted with Edge about their most recent endeavor.

When it came to Virtosu’s varied filmography, including Shadow of the Tomb Raider as well as Marvel’s Avengers, he had little to say about the latter other than “I apologize for that.”

Despite the duo’s past accomplishments, it is clear that they have high expectations for both The Lords of the Fallen and for the future of new studio Hexworks in the Soulslike hierarchy.

Gascon said that “Basically, Cezar, the CEO of our company, and me, stopped our successful careers in order to work on The Lords of the Fallen.”

Gascon went on to say that as far as they were concerned, The Lords of the Fallen was a “dream project” in spite of the extremely high expectations many gamers had following the release of Elden Ring.

“We want for the studio to become a reference in the [Soulslike] genre. We want to be the second reference [after Elden Ring developer FromSoftware], because there is no clear second reference right now,” Gascon concluded.
