L’Oreal HAPTA: an Incredible Motorized Lipstick For People with Limited Mobility

L’Oreal reveals what seems to be one of the most revolutionary makeup devices ever! In order to help those with limited mobility, the company developed a motorized lipstick applicator.

L’Oréal had actually launched at CES two new beauty gadgets, including HAPTA, a portable makeup applicator. This year, the Lancôme brand of L’Oréal will test the technology using a lipstick applicator. Based on the company’s statement, there are other plans to support more makeup applications.

Here is what you need to know.

HAPTA: a Makeup Device From the Future

For years, Lancôme has sought to provide every woman with beauty solutions adapted to their needs. Beauty tech has enabled us to fulfill this mission in an even more powerful way, revolutionizing the way we develop beauty products and services and enabling greater personalization; […] everyone should have equal access to it, stated Françoise Lehmann, global brand president of Lancôme

According to L’Oréal, the system incorporates intelligent motion controls and repositionable attachments to ensure accurate application with the aid of 360-degree rotation and 180-degree flexion. HAPTA also uses technology from Alphabet-owned Verily to level utensils and keep them steady. That’s highly impressive!

How does HAPTA work?

Users can easily click the magnetically attached accessories into position and get to use HAPTA. The sleek device will offer an hour of usage out of a single charge, which should be adequate for 10 or more applications, according to L’Oréal, while the battery will take three hours to recharge fully.

The company also stated that HAPTA provides “improved convenience of use for difficult-to-open packaging.”

L’Oréal Brow Magic

Another cosmetics applicator was also launched by L’Oréal, the Brow Magic. The device allows anyone to create a customized eyebrow style depending on their facial traits and natural brow. Imagine how much this can help people worldwide!

How does the Brow Magic work?

According to L’Oréal, the system is based on something called Modiface AR technology. Practically, users will need to use an app to scan their faces and then select the shape, effect, and, of course, thickness they want.

Next, the app will provide suggestions for fillers, microshading, and microblading.

Finally, after applying a primer, the user must brush the tool across their brow in a single motion before adding a topcoat.

The 2,400 tiny nozzles of L’Oréal Brow Magic enable it to print with a resolution of up to 1,200 drops per inch, quickly applying a perfect brow contour. The makeup could later be removed using regular remover.
