Here are some daily habit hacks to boost metabolism

Apart from following a healthy diet, it is also necessary to have a healthy lifestyle by following some simple tips that can help boost metabolism naturally.

1. Drink enough water: Water is an essential nutrient that helps in facilitating the digestion of food and aids in the elimination of waste products produced during metabolism. So, it is crucial for the body to stay hydrated by drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily.

2. Maintain a healthy weight: Obesity can lead to many health issues such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes apart from hindering the body’s metabolic processes and causing fatigue. Therefore, maintaining a healthy weight by reducing calorie intake and following a proper exercise routine can help manage weight effectively, improve metabolism and reduce the risk of fat accumulation in the body.

3. Eat breakfast daily: Eating foods like porridge, wholegrain bread or muesli helps improve metabolic rate, reduces hunger pangs and promotes weight loss effectively. It also helps maintain blood sugar levels and increases energy levels throughout the day.

4. Eat every few hours: This may seem counterintuitive, but eating smaller meals every couple hours throughout the day can actually increase your metabolism. This is because constantly eating keeps your body in a constant fat-burning mode so you’re burning more calories all day long. For this to work, be sure to keep your snacks healthy and calorie-controlled.

5. Get adequate sleep: Sleep deprivation has been linked to increased appetite and weight gain due to changes in hormones that regulate hunger and satiety. Not getting enough sleep makes you crave sugary foods and increases your intake of calories from carbohydrates, leading to weight gain over time.

6. Get enough calcium. Studies show calcium deficiency reduces the levels of calcitriol, a hormone that helps burn fat during exercise. Low-fat dairy products are an excellent source of calcium — try low-fat Greek yogurt for a high protein snack!
