iOS 15.6.1 – Update Now to Avoid Being Hacked

The issue has affected numerous iPhone, iPad, and Mac models. Experts recommend that products be updated to safeguard them.

iOS 15.6.1 Update is Essential

The tech giant based in Cupertino issued two security assessments on the issue on August 17 but received little notice outside tech magazines. Users are recommended to upgrade impacted devices, which include the iPhone 6s and later models, as follows:

• various iPad models, including the fifth generation and later, all iPad Pro models, and the iPad Air 2
• Mac computers running macOS Monterey
• some iPod models were also affected

Rachel Tobac, CEO of SocialProof Security, explained:

[…] full admin access to the device, so that they (the attackers) can execute any code as if they are you, the user.

The corporation didn’t say how many people were impacted by the issue. It always referenced an unidentified researcher.

Tobac also added that those ‘in the public eye,’ such as journalists or activists, might be the focus of sophisticated nation-state eavesdropping and should pay special attention to software updates.

Israel’s NSO Group (commercial spyware businesses) are notorious for detecting and exploiting holes in malware that silently infects users’ devices, siphons their data, and surveils them in real-time. That’s terrible only to imagine!

The US Commerce Department has banned NSO Group. Its malware has been used against human rights campaigners, journalists, dissidents in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Moreover, Will Strafach, a security researcher, stated that he had seen no technical examination of the vulnerabilities that Apple had addressed.

The corporation has previously disclosed such critical problems and, at least a dozen times, has said it was aware of claims that such security holes have been exploited, as per Strafach’s statement.
