iMac 2021 Launch Appears Imminent. Apple Killed Two Configurations.

The 21.5-inch iMac can be ordered with limited storage options, which means that a refresh may be imminent.

The iMac 2021 may be here sooner than you might expect. When Apple discontinues products, it is a sign of one of two things – Either the products are no longer popular, or the company believes that they are due a refresh and stops building stock to prepare for a future version.

For the iMac, it appears that we may be nearing a refresh, and MacRumors has spotted that Apple decreased the number of available configurations on the 21.5-inch model.

The 512GB and 1TB SSD versions of the system are no longer available, leaving potential customers with the option of purchasing either the 256GB SSD model or the 1TB Fusion Drive SSD/HDD hybrid.

The 21.5-inch iMac was refreshed in 2019, but it remains a popular choice.

Though the original HomePod was cut due to the HomePod mini being more popular, and the iMac Pro ultimately got ended because it was caught between two markets, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the 21.5-inch iMac get replaced soon.

The rumours of a new iMac redesign have been circling the internet for a while, with some reporting that a bold new look inspired by the Apple Pro Display XDR may be in store.

The claims suggest that the device would feature a flat back, decreased borders, and the metal chin would be removed.
