House Of Dragon: Will The Show Receive A Title Sequence?

Fans of “Game of Thrones” will be happy to hear that “House Targaryen” will make an appearance in the highly anticipated “Game of Thrones prequel,” “House of the Dragon,” for more “fire and blood.”

The events of the prequel, which takes place 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen was born and focus on her ancestors during their dominion over Westeros, are at the center of the story.

Missing title sequence

But despite the fact that House of the Dragon is filled to the brim with explicit and bloody scenes – enough to compete with the original series – viewers have been quick to point out a significant difference between the two shows: in contrast to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon does not have such a title sequence to start off the first episode.

While the original theme of Game of Thrones was heard during the sequence of credits at the end of the episode, many viewers were left wondering why the House of the Dragon episode did not have an introduction to build into the narrative of the episode.

Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who are also the co-creators of House of the Dragon, have provided an explanation about why the title sequence was something that they wanted to keep for the second episode of the series:

It was a creative choice. It seemed important that once the curtain went up so to speak, having a title sequence felt like an indulgence. We wanted to get on and tell the story.

Viewers of House of the Dragon don’t need to be concerned then: they will be given a new introduction to enjoy in episode 2, which is scheduled to premiere on HBO on Sunday, August 28th.

Based on a claim by Vulture, the new title sequence will be provided by the composer Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi has been brought back to score the new series after contributing his recognizable sounds to both Game of Thrones and Westworld, another successful brand owned by HBO.
