GTA 6 Release Date – What We Know So Far?

September is right around the corner, marking the beginning of autumn. However, September will also mark another special event – Grand Theft Auto 5’s 8th birthday.

Eight years is an abnormal life span for a video game, and we are incredibly pleased with how well GTA (and especially GTA Online) evolved over time.

However, Rockstar Games has proven very reticent in revealing information regarding a sequel to the game.

Swarms of supposed leaks and rumors’ are making their way online each day, as industry analysts estimate that GTA 6 will be released somewhere within the following five years.

However, fans and enthusiasts are also making their own predictions, a third of whom believe that the game will be released in early 2022, which is very optimistic thinking at the moment.

The lack of official details regarding the title has become the subject of talks for many people.

Earlier this summer, the satire site Hard Drive jokingly reported that the Director of GTA 6 “hasn’t even been born yet.”

For the moment, due to the fact that Rockstar is still being secretive with news surrounding the game, we can only form assumptions and hope that the leaks and rumours we read are accurate.

Alleged leaks and rumours

Reddit is one of the most prevalent sources of GTA leaks. The website is the birthplace of many “news” regarding the game.

However, this time the situation is a bit different – A new post speaks of a supposed screenshot from Sony regarding the launch of future titles.

“Grand Theft Auto 6” was mentioned at the bottom of that photo, next to a supposed October 28, 2022 release date.

The leak also mentioned titles that have been launched in the past, including “The Last of Us Part 2” and “Cyberpunk 2077.”

However, a caption of the original post mentioned that the release of GTA 6 could get pushed to 2023 due to the numerous delays that impacted the industry for numerous reasons. This may as well be the case.

Other leaks from platform 4chan claim that GTA 6 will be released in October 2023.

The initial post was deleted after a while, but a Reddit user made it public in a separate thread that became famous overnight due to the numerous details it spoke about.

Most generic game leaking accounts/platforms seem to agree on a 2023 release date, but reputable leakers like Tom Henderson claim that fans should be looking forward to a 2024 release date, as it is a more realistic estimate.
