For Those That Want Even More Out Of Microsoft’s Teams, A New Premium Membership Is Available

In October of last year, at the Ignite 2022 conference, Microsoft introduced a slew of new features for its Teams app and released information on Teams Premium, an add-on subscription with sophisticated AI-powered capabilities. A 30-day trial of the premium membership was made available in December, and Microsoft is set to release it next month officially. Once it’s released, Microsoft will relegate several functions formerly available with standard Teams licenses to the more expensive Teams Premium tier, where they’ll remain locked until users pay the premium.

An updated Microsoft license guide disclosed the change. After 30 days, several capabilities previously available only with a Teams license will need a paid upgrade to Teams Premium. The document also notes that when the 30-day trial period ends, users will be unable to utilize Teams without the Teams Premium add-on unless the administrator purchases and allocates Teams Premium licenses for their users.

Microsoft will be increasing their paywall to include the following features: captions that appear in real-time, users’ departure and arrival times from recorded Team meetings marked on a timeline, SMS reminders for online appointments, Teamwork Mode scenes,  the Teams control panel is where insightful metrics are compiled for use in conjunction with online meetings, dated queue view for online bookings

Teams Premium also includes a Meeting guide to help you decide which sort of meeting is best for your needs, as well as the ability to create unique logos and backdrops for your meetings. Many of the features are enabled by artificial intelligence, including chapter-based meeting navigation, AI-generated to-do lists, and intelligent meeting summaries.

In addition, Teams Premium will provide customers with individualized meeting insights, advanced search capabilities, and enhanced security measures to stop attendees from recording meetings or duplicating chat content. Microsoft is probably going to charge $10 per user per month for access to all of these capabilities. Once the update is live, the corporation will announce the final price.
