The “Wrecking Ball” announced the release date that the song will drop on January 12 in the United States and that it’d be out at 11 a.m. in Australia, Hemsworth’s home territory.

Another similar thing is that the lyrics of “Flowers” respond to “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Liam dedicated this song to Miley on their wedding day.

In one of the scenes from the single, Miley is wearing a large black suit, which some fans compared to the outfit Hemsworth wore on the premiere red carpet in 2019. Fans had speculated that the look could reference a viral clip when Hemsworth was rude to Miley.
