EA Motive’s ‘Iron Man’ May Be an Open World Game

Iron Man by EA might have an open world. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man in the MCU has made him one of the most well-known superheroes out there.

But in terms of gaming, he hasn’t really been treated fairly.

Furthermore, there were also a number of video games based on the films, but none of them were particularly noteworthy.

In Marvel’s Avengers, the character was really well written and enjoyable to play as, but in the end, the game ended up failing as a whole.

All that being said, people have been waiting to see Iron Man treated on par with characters such as Spider-Man and Batman.

In that regard, it was announced back in 2017 that EA Motive’s upcoming game would be Marvel’s Iron Man.

Iron Man is still in the works, and aside from the fact that it is an original Tony Stark story, we know very little about it because the studio developing it has just wrapped up its previous project.

However, a recent job posting for a senior writer for the project on the EA website might provide some information.

There are indications that Marvel’s Iron Man will be an open world game, as noted by a Reddit user going by the handle WHENWETOUCH.

The requirements for the position call for someone with knowledge of “non-linear dialogue” and open world games, which could imply that we will have dialogue options.

Given the general player popularity of open world games, especially superhero ones, this may not come as a surprise to some, but at the end of the day, it was still not 100 percent a given.

Newer Marvel movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, and a few others have chosen to be more linear.

However, this might mean that we get to explore a city like Los Angeles and use Iron Man to fly through the streets.

Since other Iron Man games before it have been linear this will be a completely new experience for gamers everywhere.

Of course, this could still change as development continues so only time will tell how it all turns out but it’s safe to say it is still an intriguing possibility.
