Dragon Ball Super Already Prepares for a New Arc

The Granolah the Survivor arc is finally over in the Dragon Ball Super manga, and the stage was already set for Frieza’s imposing return. The former intergalactic tyrant has a new transformation that makes him stronger than ever, possibly even a lot stronger than both Goku and Vegeta. He took the two Saiyans out simultaneously in one blow while they were using the Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego forms, respectively.

It seems reasonable to believe that Frieza will be the villain of the next arc. Whoever will be the next boss, what’s for sure is that a new arc is in the works, as reports confirm, according to comicbook.com. After the Granolah arc, the editorial staff confirmed that a new arc was about to come. However, the manga will go through a hiatus first, so there’s plenty more time to wait.

If we take a look at the history of Dragon Ball Super, the fans are pretty tired of seeing Frieza being brought back. He was resurrected twice in the series and even participated in the Tournament of Power while he was technically dead. However, we have to admit that seeing the terrifying villain with a halo above his head was indeed amusing.

Akira Toriyama has kept reviving older ideas in one way or another in recent years when it comes to Dragon Ball. He did it in the 2018 movie with Broly, in the Resurrection of ‘F’ movie that came out in 2015, and most recently in 2022 with the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. That means that for the last three movies in a row, the villains are represented by older Dragon Ball characters being brought back. The fans sure want fresh new ideas instead of dead villains getting resurrected and with “new powers” and colorful transformations.

Dragon Ball keeps remaining in the front row news lately, and not only for its manga version. The Fortnite crossover and the new Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie are also getting a lot of attention lately.
