Previously priced at $8.99 per month, Disney Plus is now $10.99 per month, a $3 increase. Disney also introduced a new ad-supported tier, priced at $7.99 per month, in addition to its pricing hike. A number of commercial breaks may be interspersed throughout your viewing experience. Across the board, it’s really standard operating procedure. There are never more than four commercial breaks each film. There are normally three commercial breaks per episode of a TV show. Everything you’re seeing is spread out quite equally across the video.
While this is a great value for those on a tight budget, you should exercise caution because the new plan isn’t compatible with a few popular gadgets on the market right now.
As stated on their help site, Roku devices will not be able to access the ad-supported Disney Plus Basic package. That means you can’t stream the ad-supported tier on any Roku device, be it a cheap stick or a high-end streaming stick. And if you use Microsoft Windows, the desktop software won’t work for you either. Because Roku players are so widely used, these restrictions on their functionality may come as a surprise.
Disney, unfortunately, does not have fantastic remedies to this problem, and instead recommends that impacted users upgrade to a more expensive subscription plan, either Disney’s Premium plan or a package that includes Hulu and ESPN Plus. As an alternative, it recommends that customers watch on a device that is compatible with the new plan, which is explained on the help page.
If you don’t want to spend money on a new gadget, you may watch it on your existing iPhone, Android, or one of many different types of smart TVs. Before switching to a new plan or signing up for a subscription, you need verify that your device is compatible. However, if you’re ready to go and aren’t tied to the exclusive shows Disney Plus provides, you can easily switch to another streaming service; the market is saturated with possibilities.
