Carlos Alcaraz Wins Wimbledon Beating Novak Djokovic; the Results Are Incredible

We know Carlos Alcaraz for his perseverance and performance and especially for his bold wish to play against Novak Djokovic. So it worked out that Alcaraz got his match against Djokovic. And boy, did he deliver!

Alcaraz overcame a bad start and raced down the stretch to halt Djokovic’s 34-match winning streak at the All England Club by defeating him 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in an exciting, back-and-forth final on Sunday. With this victory, Alcaraz won his maiden championship at Wimbledon and his second Grand Slam trophy overall. Djokovic’s record of victories at the All-England Club ended.

And check out this new development! Alcaraz, who is just 20 years old but is from Spain, defeated Djokovic, who is 36 years old and would have become the eldest male champ at Wimbledon in the Open era if he had won. Instead, Alcaraz became the third-youngest male champion at Wimbledon. The difference in age between the two competitors was the greatest it has been in any men’s Grand Slam final since 1974.

The Performance on the Tennis Court

Nevertheless, much of this is quite fresh in Alcaraz’s mind: It was Alcaraz’s second Grand Slam final, although it was Djokovic’s record-setting 35th Grand Slam final overall. That’s really insane thinking about their performance!

Although Alcaraz is quicker and more powerful than Djokovic (his serves can reach speeds of up to 130 mph, and his forehands can reach speeds of up to 100 mph), Djokovic possesses a multitude of abilities and an incredible amount of muscle memory. He has been there carried out that, in ways that Alcaraz can only dream of doing at this point in time.

On the other hand, Alcaraz was the one who won a mini-masterpiece of a match that lasted for 32 points and 25 minutes on their way to winning the third set. Alcaraz was the one who put himself in a position to win the match for good when he rallied to go up 2-1 in the fifth with a backhand passing winner.
