Billions of Chrome Users Are on Alert After Google’s Warning

The internet is not as safe as many of us would like to believe, unfortunately, and we have another proof for that unpleasant reality. Google is now trying to tackle the problem of cyberattackers currently trying to exploit a high-severity zero-day vulnerability from the Chrome browser.

According to Forbes.com, Google has issued an emergency security update in its attempt to deal with the threat. This means that billions of Chrome users should act precautious and be willing of installing the update ASAP.

Watch out for the 99.0.4844.84 update

99.0.4844.84 is the version of the update that should save our Chrome browsers from cyberattackers.  In other words, if you’re using Google Chrome to navigate across the dangerous waves of the web, you should reach out for the latest update of the app ASAP.

It’s very simple to get your hands on the update for Chrome, even if patience is not among your virtues. First, you need to head over to the Help/About option from the Chrome menu. From that point, the update should simply start to download automatically to your browser. However, it’s good to keep in mind that not everybody will see the update now. The functionality is being rolled out by Google, meaning that it can take a while before reaching everyone’s browsers. But there’s no use being impatient, as it’s in Google’s best interest to make the update available to all users ASAP.

Despite being among the top-rated and most popular browsers available out there, Chrome is not the only browser that counts. There are plenty of worthy alternatives to it, and we can mention apps such as Mozilla’s Firefox, Apple’s Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge, and a lot more.

Which browser do you prefer and why? Feel free to tell us within the comment section of this article!
