Assassin’s Creed VR Game Reportedly in Development at this Time

Although Assassin’s Creed Nexus hasn’t yet received an official announcement, a recent report suggests that Ubisoft is already working on a follow up to the VR experience.

An Assassin’s Creed game meant for the Oculus Quest 2 was first announced by Ubisoft back in 2020.

Since then, a lot has happened, but the game is still much anticipated for Meta Quest 2, which has undergone a name change.

Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming claims that financial constraints at Meta recently resulted in the cancellation of the exclusive deal.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus might be made available on new platforms however, such as PlayStation VR, although it will be launched on the Meta Quest 2 as well.

Henderson goes on to say that the development of Assassin’s Creed Nexus is too far into development for changes to be made and that the game will probably continue to be a Meta exclusive.

Ubisoft is now thinking about creating a sequel that would be available across several platforms. Evidently, the studio has high hopes for Nexus and intends to capitalize on its popularity with a sequel.

Henderson hypothesizes that the sequel may have even more fan favorites given that Assassin’s Creed Nexus will reportedly include several playable characters from across the series’ history.

Readers are advised to treat this information with caution until an official announcement, as they should with any speculation.

Although Henderson has a pretty good track record when it comes to leaks like these, plans in the video game business are always subject to change. In spite of a previous statement from more than 2 years ago, the VR game in question may have a sequel.

Hopefully Assassin’s Creed Nexus will have an official reveal soon.

Naturally, there is a very good chance that there will be another Assassin’s Creed VR game.

The franchise has always been one of Ubisoft’s most lucrative, and the studio needs some financial success. For the time being, fans will simply have to wait for more updates.
