Apple is preparing to promote a new powerful processor that will likely make us forget about the others that the Cupertino-based tech giant built in the past. Known as the A16 chipset, there’s no wonder why many tech enthusiasts are excited by the idea to see it on future iPhones.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable Apple analyst who accurately predicted plenty of news in the past, now brings important info about the A16 chipset. He claims that only two models from the upcoming iPhone 14 that will arrive in September will be sporting the new A16 processor built by Apple.
As expected, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 flagship for 2022 will come in four models. Although the fans had been hoping for all versions to be sporting the improved A16 chipset, only two of them will make the upgrade, according to Kuo’s claim via Twitter.
It’s interesting to find out that all of the four iPhone models will be carrying six gigs of RAM. That’s impressive even for a flagship released in 2022, as many would argue that you don’t need that much RAM power for a smartphone. But since gaming has evolved tremendously and more and more people use their smartphones pretty much in the same way they use their laptops, there’s no wonder why adding 6GB of RAM on a little device becomes a good idea.
If we take a look at the recent past, we see that Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max was equipped with waterproof capabilities and also the resistance against dust (IP68). That means that you can safely handle the device while underwater for plenty of minutes. We’re eager to see if the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup will extend this feature even further, as Apple has been dedicated over the years to improving its flagships.
