Android 14’s First Beta Adds a Cool Back Arrow to Match Your Background

The back arrow in Android 14’s first beta matches your background color and looks so cool! In the first Android 14 beta release that is now being made available to early users only, something really sleek, some new gesture navigation and sharing capabilities are now being rolled out. Quite impressive, isn’t it?!

Today marks the release of the first beta version of Google’s Android 14 operating system, which is really a delight and includes new features aimed at privacy, user customization, and system navigation. This beta release is the first chance for the entire public to test the improvements! Take a look below to see the back arrow in action:

The new gesture navigation has been highly updated to include a more noticeable Material You-themed back arrow that adjusts to complement the device’s wallpaper or theme.

Luckily, we have more to discover with this back arrow thingy! It is designed to help users better understand Android 14’s predictive back gesture experience, which now previews the screen users are navigating to within applications.

What other features does Android 14’s first beta add?

A redesigned system share sheet – the page that appears when you tap to share material – is also a feature of Android 14. Such a feature will help developers so much in order to provide unique app-specific actions in the sharing menu’s top section. How cool is that?!

New visual capabilities, including some incredible morphing effects and improved language settings that can automatically set up apps to accommodate language choices on a per-app basis, are also included in the first Android 14 beta. How does that work? Well, is quite simple. By enabling apps to limit the exposure of sensitive data to access services that apparently assist users with impairments, privacy is also improved.

According to Google, the new privacy features may be used to stop more vulnerable individuals from taking activities like unintentionally transferring money or paying for anything via a shopping app.
