Alice in Borderland: Season 2 Latest Details and Rumors

Squid Game is a big success. But did you know that there are other survival shows which have won our hearts just as easily? Alice in Borderland, for example, is a Japanese TV show that’s based on the manga with the same name. The manga was written by Haro Aso, and the show is directed by Shinsuke Sato and written by Yasuko Kuramitsu. It premiered on Netflix on the 10th of December, 2020, and then it was renewed on Christmas Eve.

Now, we’re waiting to see what will happen to Ryōhei Arisu, Yuzuha Usagi, and the other players. Here is everything we know so far.

The actors are still filming the second season, so Netflix doesn’t have an official trailer for us. But they did share a teaser when they confirmed Season 2.

So when is the release date?

We don’t have a clear season 2 yet, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will probably not get it this year. Season 2 will be filmed until late December 2021, so we expect to see the new episodes in 2022.

What will the plot be about?

Season 1 covered 31 chapters of the manga series, so there are still 33 other chapters to cover. Arisu has seen a lot of traumatizing moments in the first season, especially after seeing his two friends, Chota and Korube, sacrificing themselves so that he could survive. Arisu was then able to identify the witch. We also learned that Momoka and Asahi are dealers and not competitors. Season 1 ends with Mira saying that the games have just begun.

In season two, we might learn more about Mira. In the manga series, she is the Queen of Hearts, and she is a major character. We don’t know for sure how much of the manga series the producers will adapt, but we will definitely see the original games.
